This is a great, inexpensive solution to use an NTSC TV from North America and take it overseas. The video processor in this model is mid-grade and is a great solution for TV's up to 37". TV's larger than that may want to consider our . The KDV-8100RF has a higher end video processor and chipset which yields a better picture quality on larger TVs. For TV's under 37" size, you will see no difference between this model and the KDV-8100RF. The KDV-7100RF model can be used on any size TV, however the best results will be with smaller TV's. This model will work with any PAL source through HDMI, RCA, component and RF (i.e. antenna) inputs. This model converter has a Pal tuner built in. Having a Pal tuner built into the converter is advantageous because you can connect an antenna cable directly to this International KDV-7100RF converter. By doing so, you can tune Pal TV channels overseas and view them on an NTSC TV with HDMI 1080p quality. This will allow you to easily use an NTSC (North American Standard) television overseas.

Disadvantages of this converter over others:
- This model has an analog tuner built in and uses a slightly older chipset board. This chipset gives a slightly grainier picture quality than our more advanced models if using with a TV larger than 37".
- The tuner is analog only: most countries overseas are now using digital tuners, cable boxes, or satellite receivers where there is no use for a Pal tuner
- This model does not have S-video input
- This model has only 1 HDMI input, more advanced model such as the Atlona AT-Line-EX or the KDV-8000 Pal NTSC Video converter have 2 HDMI inputs and two of all the other inputs so you can connect more things to it at once.
- Picture quality is a little flat compared to a slightly more vibrant, more crisp and sharper image on the International KDV-8100RF with Tuner, International KDV-8000 or the Atlona AT-Line-EX model converters.
- The processing chipset is a little less expensive on this model versus the the International KDV-8100RF with Tuner, International KDV-8000 or the Atlona AT-Line-EX model converters.
